A concept by Jose Alvarez
Curing complexity,
one component
at a time.
A Senior Frontend Engineer who believes healthcare deserves interfaces as thoughtful as the care itself. Built with Next.js, TypeScript, and a genuine passion for athenahealth's mission.
Why athenahealth
It's not just a job. It's a mission I believe in.
The Mission Resonates
I've read Deep Medicine by Eric Topol and genuinely believe AI can make healthcare more human, not less. athenahealth's vision to cure complexity isn't just a tagline, it's a future I want to help build.
Real Users, Real Impact
People I know navigate healthcare systems every day and someone close to me uses athenahealth specifically. Seeing how these tools shape real workflows gives me perspective most engineers don't have. That connection to real users drives me. I want to make their experience better.
Austin, Home Base
I'm based in Austin, where athenahealth has a growing engineering presence. I'm energized by the idea of contributing locally to a company with national impact on healthcare.
What I'd Bring
Not just a developer. A builder.
Self Taught, Battle Tested
No bootcamp, no hand holding. I taught myself React, TypeScript, and Next.js by building real producst, not tutorials. That means I know how to learn fast, solve problems independently, and ship without waiting for permission.
I ship Real Products
Ruunt Hora is a live platform connecting people with local events in real time. I built it end to end: frontend, backend, deployment. I don't just write components, I build things people use.
Frontend Craft, Full Stack Awareness
React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwindcss are my daily tools. But I also work with Node.js, PostgreSQL, and cloud infrastructure. I can own a feature from the UI down to the API.
Builder Beyond Code
I published a book, launched a developer community platform, and constantly build in public. Engineering isn't my job: it's how I think. That energy is what I'd bring to athenahealth every day.
